MVJG offers beginning junior golf equipment, instruction and a mentor program teaching life skills such as integrity, honesty, character, courtesy, sportsmanship and self-discipline; while remembering that golf is a game, meant to be fun and rewarding.

MVJG is based out of Murrieta Valley Golf Range and is a feeder program to Valley Junior Golf Association or the VJGA.  If your goal is to play competitive golf, the VJGA is the best way to get started.  Owned and operated by Lou and Valerie Skovron for over 25 years serving the Temecula and Murrieta  Valley and surrounding areas.

Players like Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott, Brendan Steele, Sydney Michaels and many more have started their journey on the VJGA Tour.  They provide Jr Golf Tour and Educational Events year round for all age levels.  VJGA Tour Events are local and cost effective for today’s age of Junior Golf Tours out there.,  MVJG can help you learn to play golf and get you on the golf course through our team play leagues which are all at the developmental skill level.  Then once your junior golfer is ready to play his or her own ball we will introduce you to Lou and Valerie and help you along the way.  You can visit the VJGA at www.vjga.org and see a great video at https://youtu.be/CWBPzrpV7aY.

Tour Information and Playing OpportunitIES

MVJG has graduated many players to a competitive level of the game of golf. If your interest is to play in junior golf competitions, then you are definitely in the right place. There are many Junior Golf Tournament organizations out there. But where should you start. And what about high school golf? We are here to help answer those questions.

First off, did you know there are approximately 18 middle schools in our valley with golf teams? At the high school level in this valley the play is off the charts. Southwestern is one of the best high school golf leagues in the country. If you don’t have a fair amount of experience, it is very difficult to make the team, let alone see any playing time. So if you can get started at the middle school level you will have a much better chance at making that high school team. If not that is ok because there is more opportunity available.

There are 3 Junior Developmental Golf Seasons each year through MVJG offering competitive play in a team format.

In order to participate in League Play, each Junior Golfer may be required to purchase membership in the SCGA Youth Program which gets you $5 green fees at many participating golf courses. Get more Info at SCGA.org

  1. Spring Middle School Golf League- 8th grade through 5th grade.  Younger grades may play but must show the ability to play at this level mentally and physically.  Tryouts are mid February each year and we form teams and begin play in mid March thru end of May.  Since student are representing thier schools, some advanced or Jr Golf Tour Players will perticipate although the league is still dedicated to introducing student to the game and developmental.
  2. Summer PGA Junior League Golf – Open to all juniors ages 13 and under.  If you can Drive, Chip and Putt it you can play PGA Junior League Golf! –  June 1st through July 31st
  3. MVJG Fall  Junior League – 10th grade and under.  Beg/Intermediate Level League Play –  September 1 – October 31st

MVJG provides playing opportunities to all junior golfers through “Play Days” and the occasional MVJG Hosted Junior Golf Tournaments.
